When is the best time to visit the SkyRanch?

It is well known that you can fly paragliders in Manilla for over 300 days per year. This means that for ultralight pilots the flying happens nearly every day given that there are only on average 21 days a year when rain falls from the sky. It is very rarely too windy to fly (playtime for the Gyroplane Pilots!) and fog only occurs on some early mornings in winter. The daytime temperatures on average range between 20 C(winter) to 35 C (summer). Over night temps vary between 0 C (winter) to 25 C (summer)
This is the reason why British Aerospace chose Tamworth for its major Southern hemisphere flight academy and why even the New Zealanders come to Manilla to hold their national Paragliding Championships ! - the excellent average all year round flying weather.
Those who travel here not just for the flying but also with their family and want to enjoy a beach holiday (Whitsundays or Great Barrier Reef) can do so all year round bearing in mind that between November and March the likelihood of tropical rains is increased as is the potential for marine stingers (jelly fish etc). The beach is only 3hrs away by car or 90mins by air. The Lake Keepit next to the SkyRanch is also great for water activities.
Remember that Australia has much more to offer than big cities and the coast ! The real heart of Australia lies in the inland towns and countryside. The SkyRanch is located in the heart of the "Big Sky Country"

What should i bring?

In order to hire an aircraft you need to bring a valid license and your log book. All the neccessary aircharts and important flight informations are available at the SkyRanch. In addition to this you should consider bringing :

Everything else you might need is available in Manilla or Tamworth (shopping, eating out, entertainment).
Credit cards are widely accepted, however it is advisable to have some local currency (A$) available. Travellers cheques can be changed at all banks.
